- Elderly Man Murdered -
Crime Stoppers of Monterey County and the Salinas Police Department are seeking information and help in solving the slaying of Daniel Cisneros.

On February 10th, 1998, the sound of a barking dog attracted the attention of its elderly owner, 92-year-old Daniel Cisneros. He went to his front door to see what alarmed his pet. When he opened the door, he was assaulted by three or four young men The dog had been trying to alert Cisneros to danger.
Cisneros gave the suspects $300. His attackers then dragged him through the house to his bedroom at the back to search for more money.
More blows came when the suspects could not get any more money. Cisneros was beaten unconscious and left to die on the bedroom floor.
He lived long enough to tell of the attack before he died Thursday.
The suspects are described as being in their late teens to early 20's. They were of average build and wearing caps.
