Community Academy
Application Form

Below you will find an application for the Salinas Police Department's Community Academy.  The academy runs for twelve consecutive Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. weekly.  Please contact the Community Services Unit for the dates of the next session.

During the program, you will be exposed to the various aspects of the Salinas Police Department and law enforcement in general.  Topics include an overview of the entire organization; Internal Affairs, K-9, Field Operations, High-risk Tactics, the Violence Suppression Unit, Narcotics, Laws of Arrest, Firearms, Police Investigations, Driving Under the Influence, Crime Scene Evidence Processing, and much more. 

You must live or work in Salinas, have no felony convictions and be 18 years of age or older to apply.
