Patrol Officers are the backbone of the Salinas Police
Department. However, being a Salinas Police Officer means the chance to do many
jobs throughout your career, not just one. A wide variety of special assignments
provides for an exciting and well-rounded career in law enforcement. A limit
of 3-5 years in a special assignment insures that everyone has a chance to get
the assignment they really want.
