An employee at the Quik Stop called to report that an armed robbery had just occurred at the business.  The suspect was described as an unknown race male, wearing black colored clothing carrying a chrome colored handgun.  He was last seen running southbound from the business.  Officers arrived in the area and located a subject, later identified as Paul Becker, 26, matching the description in the 0-100 block of Clark Street.  Upon seeing the police Becker ran and jumped several fences.  Officers eventually located Becker in the yard of a nearby business.  He had sustained multiple lacerations after being cut by razor wire on the top of a fence of the business.  He was treated and later released from the hospital.  The stolen money was recovered.  The handgun and clothing were not located.  Becker was booked into the Monterey County Jail for armed robbery.

No. The Salinas Municipal Code  prohibits any fowl or livestock to be kept as pets. This includes pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc. Roosters are especially bothersome because of the noise they create and the fact they are sometimes used for cockfights and gambling.
