My neighbors keep a rooster in their backyard. Is this legal?
No. The Salinas Municipal Code prohibits any fowl or livestock to be kept as pets. This includes pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc. Roosters are especially bothersome because of the noise they create and the fact they are sometimes used for cockfights and gambling.

2 suspects, both Hispanic males in their 20's, one dressed in all black and one with a brown hooded jacket and black pants entered the store with black handguns. One suspect ordered the clerk to open the cash register. The suspect struck the clerk on the side of his head twice with the gun. The suspects obtained a small amount of money and fled on foot southbound on Clark Street. The clerk was transported to NMC for treatment.
