Location: 2000 Block of Perez Street

Salinas Police received a call from CHOMP reporting a victim of a shooting in the ER. The victim, a Hispanic male adult (32), stated he was approached by a single male while on the 2000 block of Perez Street in Salinas. The suspect asked the victim what he claimed and when the victim denied any gang affiliation the suspect fired at the victim striking him once. The victim was able to transport himself to CHOMP and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult, 17 – 19 years old, approximately 6 foot, and possibly wearing a gray jacket and baseball cap. The suspect may have fled the area in a dark green SUV.
