Incident: Attempted Murder

Report #: 13-071110

Date: Saturday, 7/20/2013

Time: 9:43 PM

Location: Williams and Freedom Pkwy

The victims were driving in their mini-van traveling north on Williams Rd south of Freedom Pkwy, when the victim driver noticed a white Thunderbird pull up along side of him. At this location the two lanes turn into one lane and the Thunderbird accelerated to get ahead of the victim. The victim also accelerated and tried to stop the Thunderbird from passing him. The Thunderbird was on the left side of the mini-van when the victim heard a loud pop as the left side passenger window exploded. The victim's 1 year old baby happened to be sitting next to that window and was showered with glass. It appears the gun used was either a small caliber handgun or possibly a pellet gun. The baby suffered a few small cuts to her forehead and a small piece of glass embedded into the top of her head. The victim chased after the suspect vehicle as it accelerated away. The victim finally decided to drive to SVMH, however was told to pull over and wait for the ambulance at Sherwood and Sherwood. There were no further injuries. The baby was treated and released from SVMH.
