Juan Carlos Ortega, 18, Jesus Perez Rivas, 19 and a 16 year-old Hispanic male, who are gang members and not students at AHS, went to the school to pick a fight. They were confronted at the front by a school supervisor, but told him they were picking up some things from their art class. When they got inside the school grounds they went to the first person they saw that looked like a gang member, who happened to be an 18 year-old student. Once that fight had been broken up, Ortega, Rivas and the 16 year-old suspect, began yelling gang slogans. This caused another fight with another 16 year-old student, which was eventually broken up by school officials. During the fight, 2 school supervisors and an Assistant Principal received minor injuries. Ortega is on full gang terms and he was lodged for 676.8(a) PC, fighting on school grounds, 243.2(a) PC, battery on school official and several others. The 16 year-old juvenile suspect is also on full gang terms and was lodged at Juvenile hall for the above charges and several others. Jesus Rivas fled before officers arrived and is wanted on charges of fighting on school grounds, gang enhancments and violation of his probation. A booking photo of Rivas is attached.
