No. The Salinas Municipal Code prohibits any fowl or livestock to be kept as pets. This includes pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc. Roosters are especially bothersome because of the noise they create and the fact they are sometimes used for cockfights and gambling.

Salinas Police Department is currently investigating allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor on the part of a suspect, identified as Billy Seabolt (26). Seabolt is a Marina youth soccer and baseball league coach and board member. Seabolt is also a volunteer at the Marina Youth Center. It is believed Seabolt has been associated with these programs for at least a year.
Two victims have currently come forward with allegations occurring in Salinas. Detectives investigating these incidents developed information identifying Seabolt as the suspect. Subsequently, Seabolt was contacted and arrested this past Sunday in Marina. Seabolt was transported to the Monterey County jail and booked on charges of child molestation and lewd acts on a minor.
This case continues to be an active investigation. The Salinas Police Department encourages anyone who may have information regarding allegations such as these to contact the appropriate local law enforcement agency. No further information is available.
