Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 1200 block of First Ave. It was unknown if anyone was hit but a truck was left running in front a residence. When officers arrived they saw multiple gunshots through the driver's side window of an orange extended cab pick-up. Inside, seated in the driver's seat, was a 24 year old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. The victim did not have any history with the Salinas Police Department and it is unknown why he was targeted. His name is being withheld until his next of kin can be notified.

While several people heard the gunshots and heard a vehicle speeding away, no one has come forward
