Location: Mendocino Dr and Colusa Pl

At approximately 9:50 pm Salinas Police responded to the area of Mendocino Dr and Colusa on a report of a victim of a shooting. When they arrived they found  29 year old Abelino Martinez Jr suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.Officers attempted life saving measures, however Martinez died at the scene.Witnesses reported seeing two males in dark clothing running from the scene, however there is no other suspect information at this time. This incident is being investigated as gang related.
