Officers responded to a victim of a shooting in front of the house. When they arrived, they found Jose Sanchez (33) with a gunshot wound to the head. He was immediately transported to NMC. He was pronounced deceased several hours later. Sanchez was at a party at the house when he became involved in an arguement with two other men at the party.  The arguement carried over into the street when one of the two men pulled a handgun and shot Sanchez.  All of the occupants of the house were uncooperative.  They denied that Sanchez was even at the house.  Suspects have been identified in this case, one is currently outstanding.

The Salinas Municipal Code  contains noise ordinances that regulate certain kinds of noise.

Generally, noise is divided into four "classes".

• Class A Noise is defined as noise created by equipment operated in the public interest or for emergency or safety purposes. Such equipment includes sirens, street sweepers, garbage trucks, chipper machines, etc. Class A noise is allowed at anytime.
