Officers responded to the victim of a shooting.  When they arrived they found Andrew Hyde (25) dead in front of the house.  Witnesses stated Hyde unknowingly entered the house and possibly confronted the homeowner with a knife.  The homeowner produced a firearm and fired at Hyde multiple times.  The reason for Hyde being at the home is unclear at this stage of the investigation.  The investigation is in the preliminary stages and continues.

The Salinas Municipal Code  contains noise ordinances that regulate certain kinds of noise.

Generally, noise is divided into four "classes".

• Class A Noise is defined as noise created by equipment operated in the public interest or for emergency or safety purposes. Such equipment includes sirens, street sweepers, garbage trucks, chipper machines, etc. Class A noise is allowed at anytime.
