Date: Thursday, 10/17/2013

Location: West Rossi Street & Sonsome Street
The victim, a 56-year-old male, was riding his 1987 Harley Sportster motorcylce w/b on West Rossi Street approaching Sansome Street. The male driver, age 25, was stopped at the stop sign facing s/b on Sansome Street in his 2013 Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai made a left turn onto Rossi directly in front of motocycle. The motorcylce rider struck the Hyundai broadside on the left/rear door. It appears the rider was launched over the Hyundai and landed on the pavement. When officers arrived the motorcycle rider was unconcious and unresponsive. He was transported to Natividad Medical Center where he was stabilized and later flown to a San Jose trauma center in critical condition. It did not appear that the driver of the Hyundai was under the influence of alcohol or any drug. He voluntarily gave a blood sample. The case is still under investigation.
