A vigilant neighbor observed suspicious activity at a neighbors residence in the 900 block of Loyola Dr. A suspicious vehicle with an unknown female occupant drew the reporting party's attention. The neighbor also reported a vehicle usually parked in the neighbors garage was gone, as the garage door was open. The neighbor also observed two unknown male individuals come out of the residence with property. They entered the waiting vehicle and fled.
The alert neighbor made note of the suspect vehicle description and license plate number. Officers confirmed a burglary had occurred and attempted to locate the owner of the suspect vehicle, it was registered to the 400 block of E. Laurel Dr.
Investigating officers located the suspect vehicle at the Laurel Dr. address and contacted the residents. A juvenile suspect (16) was contacted and identified as one of the suspects seen exiting the victim residence, he was arrested.
Officers recovered stolen property taken from the Loyola St. address. In addition, the vehicle stolen from the garage was also recovered a short time later near Sherwood Park.
The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall on charges of residential burglary and stolen vehicle. The investigation continues in an attempt to locate the other two suspects.
