Report #: 13-111042

Date: Saturday, 11/23/2013

Time: 2:27 AM

Location: McDonald's - 608 Williams Rd.

Officers reponded to the McDonald's for a report of a possible robbery. Two Salinas officers arrived within a minute of the call and began to approach the restaurant, which was open for business.  As one of the officers appoached the front glass doors, the suspect saw him and pointed a handgun at him.  The officer immediately stepped behind cover and the suspect ran toward the drive-thru window and jumped out.  He then ran across Williams Rd. towards Wiren St.  As additional officers responded to the area, the suspect robbed a male and female who were in their vehicle on Bardin Circle.  The suspect demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  According to witnesses and other evidence, the suspect threw a large rock through the drive-thru window.  He then made entry through the window carrying a black backpack. He is described as a male adult in his mid 30's, 5' 3" - 5' 5", medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black beanie, and some type of ski googles.  The suspect had obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and was preparing to leave when he saw the first responding officers.  The suspect in this case matches the description of the one who previously robbed two other McDonald's restaurants in Salinas.
