Location: Sears - Northridge
Employees at Sears observed a customer inside the store acting suspiciously. Carl Lemos, 28, selected several socket trays from the Tools Department and placed them inside the packpack he was carrying. He then went to the Outdoor Lighting Department and set the backpack down on the ground near the door. Lemos proceeded to select several items of work clothing and paid for them at a register. On his way out, the suspect picked up the backpack and left the store. He was contacted by Loss Prevention employees, who attempted to arrest him. Lemos fought with employees and then pulled out a pocket knife. The knife was slapped out of his hand and Lemos was successfully placed under arrest. He was booked into the Monterey County Jail for robbery.
