Location: 400 Block of Cabrillo St.

Three females were inside their residence when unknown suspects fired multiple rounds into the home. A 19-year old female suffered a grazing wound to her back but was not transported to the hospital. No suspect information at this time and no clear motive. The victims do not appear to be gang related. An unknown type car was heard leaving the scene but no witnesses could be located.

My neighbors keep a rooster in their backyard. Is this legal?
 
No. The Salinas Municipal Code  prohibits any fowl or livestock to be kept as pets. This includes pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc. Roosters are especially bothersome because of the noise they create and the fact they are sometimes used for cockfights and gambling.
