 Witnesses called in after hearing gunshots fired in the area of Del Monte Ave and N. Sanborn Rd. Shortly afterward, a 20-year old male walked into a local emergency room with at least 2 bullet wounds. The victim is an admitted gang member and he refused to provide any statement to officers. He was taken to in to surgery and is expected to survive. Police are asking anyone with information to call the Watch Commander at 758-7250 or the anonymous tip line at 800-78-CRIME.

The Salinas Municipal Code  contains noise ordinances that regulate certain kinds of noise.

Generally, noise is divided into four "classes".

• Class A Noise is defined as noise created by equipment operated in the public interest or for emergency or safety purposes. Such equipment includes sirens, street sweepers, garbage trucks, chipper machines, etc. Class A noise is allowed at anytime.
