A green Dodge Neon parked and the rear passenger exited. Without saying a word the suspect opened fire with a handgun at two brothers, ages 25 and 23. The younger brother was not hit but the 25-year old male was struck in the lower extremities. He was taken to a local trauma center with non-life threatening injuries. Just prior to the shooting, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Williams Rd on the report of two males, 18-19 years old that were armed with a handgun. Witnesses said a green Dodge Neon and a white Lexus were involved. The suspects were gone prior to the arrival of the officers. This shooting is being investigated as gang related.

The Salinas Municipal Code  contains noise ordinances that regulate certain kinds of noise.

Generally, noise is divided into four "classes".
