A 32-year old male was working on his car when a green, older model Honda Accord stopped at the driveway. Without saying a word, the passenger fired approximately 6 rounds striking the victim in the knee and causing a grazing wound to his arm. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. He has no gang connections and no motive for the shooting has been established.

The Salinas Municipal Code  contains noise ordinances that regulate certain kinds of noise.

Generally, noise is divided into four "classes".

• Class A Noise is defined as noise created by equipment operated in the public interest or for emergency or safety purposes. Such equipment includes sirens, street sweepers, garbage trucks, chipper machines, etc. Class A noise is allowed at anytime.
