A Salinas Police Community Service Officer observed a green Honda Accord passenger vehicle traveling eastbound on East Alisal Street near John Street.  The driver of the vehicle, Delfino Diaz, 18, began driving erratically.  The community service officer requested officers respond to assist.  Diaz parked the vehicle in the under 100 block of Summer Street and left it unattended.  He ran a short distance until he was confronted by a Salinas Police Officer who took him into custody without incident.  The vehicle was determined to be a reported stolen vehicle out of the California Highway Patrol jurisdiction from several weeks ago.  Diaz was booked into Monterey County Jail for being in possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of an open container of alcohol and driving on a suspended license.
