An alert anonymous citizen called police to report two suspicious persons stripping a vehicle in the street at the dead end of Maryal Dr. and Chaparral Ave. The male suspect was reportedly stripping the vehicle while a female suspect was acting as a lookout. As officers arrived , they were seen approaching by the female who did not stay and fled the area on foot.
Officers appeared to startle the male suspect identified as Michael Meza (32) who continued to strip a vehicle as the officers were standing next to him . Meza was arrested without incident next to two unreported stolen vehicles. One of the vehicles was up on cinder blocks and a second set of cinder blocks was located inside the second stolen vehicle.
Meza declined to provide information on the female suspect who was not located. Meza was later transported to county jail where he was booked on the listed charges.
