An unknown male in his late 40s was in the crosswalk of E. Alisal and Smith St., crossing the streen in a northbound direction.  He was struck by an Acura Integra, which was traveling eastbound on E. Alisal St.  The pedestrian, who had no identification, sustained severe injuries to his face, head, and left side of his body.  The driver, a 31 year old male was cooperative with officers and did not appear driving under the influence.  At the time of this press release, the victim was in critical but stable condition at NMC.
