Gift for Guns Program

As Governor Schwarzenegger announced, on Saturday June 6 the Salinas Police Department for the first time instituted a “Gifts for Guns” program. Weencouraged Salinas residents to surrender firearms in an effort to make the community safer.

This program is intended to reduce the number of firearms in the community which could potentially be stolen and used in criminal activity or result in an accidental shooting.
