Location: 1000 Block of Rider Ave.

A 43 year old ice cream vendor was shot at during a robber. The victim was pushing his shopping cart northbound on Rider Avenue when he was approached from a parked vehicle. He was confronted by a man who pointed a small black revolver at him and demanded his money in Spanish. The victim  handed over the cash, but the suspect wanted more and demanded his cell phone and pistol whipped the victim striking him on the head.  The suspect ran back to a waiting car and fired a shot at the victim missing him. The suspect possibly fled on Garner Ave. in a black Honda Civic 4 door, lowered, with tinted windows. Suspect was described as a HMA, approx. 23 years old, thin, light skinned, with a thin mustache, wearing dark clothing.
