Attempted Murder, Violation of Probation

Officers investigated a stabbing incident that resulted in the arrest of Mark Cruz (50) for attempted murder. Cruz was in an argument with an unidentified woman which included Cruz  kicking her dog. The male victim (20) attempted to verbally intervene from across the street. Cruz took exception and walked across the street to confront the victim. Cruz pulled out a pocket knife and proceeded to stab the victim to the left rib cage area. Officers identified and detained Cruz as the suspect and subsequently arrested him. The victim was transported to Natividad Medical Center in stable condition suffering non-life threatening injuries.

Cruz was transported to county jail and booked on attempted murder and violation of probation charges.
