The Salinas Police Department deploys eight vehicle-mounted Automated License Plate Readers. The license plate, registration history, and geographical location information are downloaded to a server housed and maintained by the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC). The Salinas Municipal Code contains noise ordinances that regulate certain kinds of noise.
Generally, noise is divided into four "classes".
