Update: The homicide victim from the November 3, 2018 shooting in the 100 block of N. Hebbron St. has been identified as Felix Alonso Francisco (43). Detectives were able to identify him earlier this month but so  far have not been able to locate his family or determine where he lived or worked. Location: 100 Block of N.Hebbron Ave

On November 3, 2018, at approximately 1:30 am, officers responded to the under 100 block of North Hebbron Avenue to investigate calls from community members regarding gunshots, along with a ShotSpotter activation. Officers located a Hispanic male in his late 20's to early 30's, lying in the driveway of a complex, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim expired at the scene. We are looking into the possibility of a gang nexus, but at this time, the motive for the shooting is unknown. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided when available.

No. The Salinas Municipal Code  prohibits any fowl or livestock to be kept as pets. This includes pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc. Roosters are especially bothersome because of the noise they create and the fact they are sometimes used for cockfights and gambling.
