Location:1000 block of Jean Ave.

Officers responded to several calls of shots fired in the area of the 1000 block of Jean Ave.. Violence Suppression Task Force officers were nearby and also responded.  With the help of the community, officers were able to narrow down the possible location where they located evidence that led them to a residence in the 1000 block of Jean Ave.

Officers contacted Cesar Cano (23) and during the investigation evidence was located that resulted in Cano's arrest. VSTF recovered 3 handguns, 2 shotguns, an AR style rifle and multiple rounds of ammunition. Cano is facing charges of negligent discharge of a firearm and other weapon related violations.

Salinas PD would like to thank the community for their involvement in bringing this incident to a positive and safe conclusion.

The Salinas Municipal Code  contains noise ordinances that regulate certain kinds of noise.
