On March 1, 2019, at approximately 10:45 am, Salinas Police officers were called to the 1000 blk of E. Laurel Dr. on the report of a disturbance involving weapons. Officers arrived and made contact with a 20 -year-old female who had barricaded herself in a vehicle. 
She was the sole occupant in the vehcile. At 1:34 pm, officers were involved in an officer involved shooting. The female suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. No officers were injured.

As per established protocol, the Monterey County District Attorney's Office is conducting the officer involved shooting investigation. Any questions or inquiries should be made to the District Attorney's Office.
