Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 200 block of Sun Way. When they arrived, they contacted Jose Gonzalez (25) who was attempting to hide behind a truck in the parking lot. Gonzalez was promptly detained. During their investigation, officers were able to determine Gonzalez had in fact fired a gunshot from a firearm, which activated ShotSpotter. A check of the area where Gonzalez was standing near the parked truck revealed a loaded Glock 27 handgun, two boxes of ammunition, multiple bindles of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana all packaged for sales. Gonzalez was arrested and booked into County Jail on a variety of firearm and drug related charges.
