Update- Although details are still being investigated, the pedestrian who died as a result of her injuries suffered in this fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian collision has been identified as Julie Anne Rush (64). It appears Rush may have crossed Alisal St. against the traffic light at N. Main St. Motor Unit officers are continuing the investigation.

Original Press Release 10-10-2018

Officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at Main St. and W. Alisal St.. Officers located an injured pedestrian laying in the roadway. CPR was initiated immediately, the adult female was transported to Natividad Medical Center but died as a result of her injuries in the collision. The initial investigation revealed, the driver, was traveling eastbound on W. Alisal at approximately 25mph when the driver struck the pedestrian who was in the intersection. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police. Witnesses were contacted on scene and provided statements. It appears the  driver had a green light as the vehicle drove through the intersection. Motor Unit officers responded and assisted in the investigation. It does not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor. The pedestrian's identity is pending notification of next of kin. The investigation  by Motor Unit officers is on going.
